About the Tournament
This popular ladies fishing tournament started in 2001, a ladies, one-day backcountry fishing tournament to raise money to help feral cats here in the Upper Keys. What started out as a fun day of fishing has now become out major fund raiser to help so many needy animals. We are a 501(c)(3) charity recognized by the State of Florida. The tournament is held the third weekend in October every year. Hells Bay Boatworks has been making their signature backcountry skiffs (18′ Waterman) available to be awarded to the first angler who is catches all six backcountry species during the tournament. No one has won the boat to date. Dragonfly Boatworks continues to generously give away a 10′ Custom Stand Up Paddleboard to the tournament as well.
Schedule of Events:
Friday Night: Kick Off at Islander Resort Cocktails/hor d’ oeuvres and Last Minute Registration 6:00-7:45pm, Rules at 7:15pm
Saturday: Angler sign in at Lorelei 6:30-7:15am, Lines in at 7:30, Lines out at 3:00 pm.
Saturday: Silent Auction and Litter Box Dig at Islander Resort: 12 noon – 8:15pm (open to the public),
Saturday: Cocktails & hor d’ oeuvres 6:30pm – 8:00, Awards Dinner at 8:00pm. Islander Resort
